Ozzies is under construction on 7th Avenue for what Here’s Park Slope says will be a “bar/salon hybrid Beauty Bar inside the space.” Ozzie’s isn’t going to close but there’s no word on how the space will be divided. HPS also notes a “healthy” restaurant is coming to the Calexico space on 5th, Wicked Spoon Yogurt is closed for biz, and a “vintage curio” shop is open on 6th Street.
I Love Franklin Avenue tracks a whole lot of openings around the neighborhood: Juice Hugger Cafe is open at 85 Rogers Avenue, between St. Marks and Prospect; the former Brooklyn Ink Spot on Franklin and Park is being converted by the current owners into a salad bar joint; The Crown Inn has signage up on Franklin Avenue and will soon be a oysters and cocktail bar; and Councilwoman Letica Jamess mentioned the possibility of a gym and fitness center moving to Crown Heights, specifically Franklin Avenue.
In Gowanus, the Little Neck Clam Shack is finally opening….today! The blog Nona Brooklyn got in touch with the owner who says, “The new chef is Alan Harding… We open Wednesday with Alan in the kitchen. It is gonna be awesome.” In Williamsburg, Zagat posts a picture of Basik, the new wine and small plates venture at 323 Graham Avenue. Also Here’s Williamsburg says a contemporary clothing boutique is coming to 381 Metropolitan Ave and Radioshack to 692 Grand. Grubstreet runs a slideshow of Battersby, a new resto in Cobble Hill. Finally a fire ripped through a pizza joint on Avenue J in Sheepshead Bay.
