Prospect Lefferts Gardens
Wholesome Gourmet Market is now up and running on the corner of Flastbush and Lincoln. And the Q at Parkside wonders if Caton Market is closing, but it seems like it may just be receiving repairs to a leaky ceiling.

North Brooklyn
The Elm is coming together at the Hotel Williamsburg. The restaurant space was previously home to the short-lived Pillar and Plough. Strangeways Coffee opened up in Bushwick — the place serves single-origin-only brews and baked goods from Dough. And the 26-seat tasting menu restaurant planned for the back of Greenpoint beer haven Toorst, called Luksus, will open on July 16th.

Park Slope
The high-end Scottish whisky bar Duke of Montrose is shaping up on the corner of 5th and Bergen. A hair salon called Union Beauty is open at 849a Union Street, the former Sprout Kidz clothing store. And the ’50s-style boutique Enz’s should open by July 15 on 5th Avenue. Mavi Jeans, a clothing chain that specializes in, of course, jeans, is under construction at the doublewide storefront on the corner of 5th Avenue and Union Street. The new Franny’s location just debuted lunch service. They plan to open Marco’s, an Italian joint, in the old Franny’s location on Flatbush Avenue on September 2nd.

Elsewhere
Chefs Frank Falcinelli and Frank Catronovo held a BBQ this past weekend at Res, their new restaurant in Red Hook. (There’s another BBQ planned for 4th of July weekend.) The space will open officially later this summer. Just north on the Columbia Street Waterfront, signage is up for an herb and skincare shop at 275 Columbia. And in Brooklyn Heights, Mara’s Bakery and Cafe is serving coffee, pastries, sandwiches, and gelato at 88 Livingston Street.
