The NY Times Dining Section has a feature on doughnuts today; did you know that “New York is living through a… flowering in the doughnut arts”? The two Brooklyn spots featured were Dough (pictured), which was opened in December by Choice Market, and Peter Pan Donut and Pastry Shop. The flavors at Dough are more experimental (hibiscus, dulce de leche, Nutella cream) while Peter Pan sticks to the traditional route. Any other good doughnut spots in Brooklyn we should know about?

weekend doughnuts/beignets at almondine are fantastic. a bit heavy on the jelly for my tastes, but they’re freshly made on saturday mornings and just great.
something tells me the peoples of hamtramck (that little mini city place in the middle of detroits borders, no?) dont charge 15 dollars for a donut tho.

Petunia, I was thinking the same thing. I’ve raved about the Donuts Luncheonette before. I think I miss it as much as anything else since I moved from PS to Boerum Hill.
The jelly donut on weekends at Almondine finally ended a twelve year quest to satiate my hankering for a Hamtramck-worthy paczki. Best jelly donut in NYC.
I choke suffer through a crowded G and a pathetically packed L.
I’d rather take the F.
(im sure it is in other spots, but not between park slope and lower manhattan anyway)

not the last train or the first train of the R train at 830 am or 530 pm. always, always, always, always get a seat. it’s the one few things i like to brag about. i would die with a horrible standing commute cuz i use it for my intellectual reading time.

I know it is beyond the walls of Brownstone Brooklyn, but this little doughnut shop has been dishing out perfect little gems for pennies. Easily accessible from the Q train on Ave U, this a great little greasy spoon.

How could there be 21 comments and no mention of Donuts Luncheonette on 7th ave. in the Slope? They have excellent old-style diner donuts.
