T Thai, the second-floor restaurant on the corner of 7th Avenue and Carroll Street, closed down last week, and signs have gone up announcing that the space is for rent. In its window display, the Thai joint boasted of being in business since 1980. GMAP

  1. This was basically the only Thai choice, along with Lemongrass, on 7th when I moved to the neighborhood in 1992. The food has always been mediocre, but I was impressed by the places’s longevity and rooted for it to survive.

Why is no one mentioning Taro? It is, in my opinion, the most authentic sushi in PS, closely followed by Blue Ribbon (If BR wasn’t so expensive, I’d say they were equals.)

I am sorry, but all those spots on 3rd Ave are kind of lame (except for I haven’t been to the beer bar.)

I do remember, years ago, 7th Ave was the main strip in the Slope, the it switched to 5th; now there seems to be some sort of a tug-of-war between the two streets. Good! We could use two restaurant rows.

  2. “I think you all eat out too much. If you didn’t you could afford that house on the park block.”

some people end up affording that house BECAUSE theyre good at eating out.

oh, you meant something else. nevermind.

    hmm…
