Yesterday’s reveal was Cellar’s, today’s is L’Epicerie! The new place will be a Paris-meets-Brooklyn concept called BaguetteAboudit. It will likely serve a Choice-like assortment of high-quality, moderately-priced items like soups, salads and sandwiches in addition to fresh bread; there will be additional hot foods at night as well. It will open at 7 a.m. and run through the prime dinner hours seven days a week.

The name doesn’t matter. If it has good food and service the neighborhood will embrace it.
Anyone who doesn’t shop at a store solely because of the name has issues.
The name is cringe-inducing but I’m happy for those who have a new place to get fresh bread.
besides being cringe worthy, it puts off the impression that they aren’t taking it seriously.
It took me a really long time to figure that name out. Baguette Aboudi? Baguette-a-booty? And then when I finally did I was très déçue. Baguette-a-booty might be nice, though.
