  1. doldrums, if I may, you really ought to try and enjoy *rob*’s posts. I think you’ll find, like most of the regulars here, that he’s one of the smartest, funniest people you’re ever gonna meet. He has a very unique perspective given his background, and he has no inhibitions about telling it like it is.

Rob, kills the comments section on these blogs. I have to read his insufferable posts, posts mind you on almost every topic. This guy sits in front of his computer all day with nothing to do and proceeds to write inane nonsense that tries to put down exactly the type of person his posts show him to be , oh well, it is why me and many others post so rarely.

It’s this sort of “hall monitoring” by the likes of you who don’t ever add anything to the discussion, positively or negatively, that is insufferable.

Why subject us to your sanctimonious ranting when all you do is lurk like a 6 year old child????

  4. “it’s also an extremely narcissistic profession, especially the blog aspects.”

pot = kettle. PLUSA of the year goes to Rob. It was a tough choice, but he really really deserves it. DIBS was a close second.

  5. @mopar – actually I think the FG/CH blog was run by Andy Newman (now editor of NYT City Room blog) and he lives in Park Slope not Manhattan – and there was an outcry at the beginning that he wasn’t a Ft. Greener, but close enough I guess.

  6. the ny times doesnt pay people anymore and that’s a gazillion tards willing to write stories for free, for the exposure, with the hope of getting hired, which they won’t. it’s also an extremely narcissistic profession, especially the blog aspects. the stories are all fluff pieces that are nothing more than blah blah blah this is what me and my friends do all day. and lol @ the quote of someone saying publishing and media are “intellectual” professions. please look up the word intellectual and then get back to me.
