The burlesque club opening on Commerce Street in the old Hook space now has a banner outside of it announcing the name of the forthcoming establishment, Paris Burlesque Club. An image of the Eiffel Tower has also been painted onto one of the windows. Community Board 6 approved a liquor and cabaret license for the Red Hook venture in February, so perhaps its opening is on the horizon.

Closing Bell: Burlesque for Red Hook? [Brownstoner]
Looks like a nice solid, well maintained building.
I’m thinking “Does NYC need another titty bar?” Will Lin Shaye be reprising her role as Magda from “There’s Something About Mary”? Will there be another group of sad women with bad boob jobs shaking their stuff for singles?
With few exceptions, most of these burlesque dancers are unattractive: overweight and homely, with no rhythm.
If they maintained the old interior from The Hook it’s actually pretty cool on the inside.
Why?
” it’s like you gotta work for your crack money!”
que rim shot…
Never judge what might be going on inside by what the outside looks like. Apparently none of you have ever been to Bangkok.
Why does the sign say BLUE with a hook if it’s Redhook?
burlesque dancers dont seem to be doing it cuz they NEED the money, which in my opinion is what makes watching a stripper strip interesting. it’s like you gotta work for your crack money! (and no, i dont watch strippers)
*rob*
Note the red carpet painted on the steps. That’s how you know a joint has class!
Burlesque is very entertaining and fun to go see.
