The group called Brooklyn Park Glass held its first cleanup of Fort Greene Park this past weekend, and the folks behind it say they were able to pick up 50 pounds of broken glass from the park in less than two hours. The idea behind the initiative is not only to remove litter but also to send the glass to a facility for recycling. The next cleanup is planned for this Saturday, September 10th; info on how to volunteer for it is here.
