Gothamist broke a juicy bit of news last Friday: the Grand Central Oyster Bar is slated to expand to Park Slope, and is rumored to be looking at the old Fornino spot on 5th Avenue. The famous seafood restaurant is expected to land in Brooklyn by the end of the year. The former Fornino space is three storefronts wide and one of the largest commercial spaces in the Slope. The actress Debi Mazar and her husband Gabriele Corcos were eyeing the empty restaurant earlier this year but eventually backed out because the landlord was asking for too much rent. The Oyster Bar first opened in Grand Central in 1913 and has another location in Newark airport, and two more in Tokyo.
