9th-street-newspaper-stand.jpg
A tipster alerted us to what she thought was a newspaper kiosk on 9th Street between 5th and 6th Avenues. It has “Cemusa” written on the side, which is apparently an award winning street furniture company. This picture was taken last week, has there been any headway made on it since?

  1. “thanks for the patronizing response.”

    HEY! I was AGREEING with you, OK? Unfortunately the blog format does not allow for the subtleties of nuance.

    You’re right – that viewpoint is seen as anti-Brownstoner.

    Now take back what you said about Twitter..HA HA!

    Just for the record, I honestly don’t care if anyone uses Twitter or not. Like the man said, different strokes for different folks.

  2. Denton;

    I wonder how many people remember the fact that you brought up: at one time, many NYC newstands (especially those in office building lobbies) were owned by blind people, and they depended upon their customer’s honor system to make the correct change.

    Hey, if we’re going contextual, girl nudie magazines are OK, as long as they are those cheap productions that were around in those years, with names like “Girls-a-go-go!”

  3. “it’s fine to have nudie mags in Park Slope, as long as they are gay nudie magazines!”

    You mean like Martha Stewart Living??

    Come on Denton, everyone knows the gays don’t do nudie mags. They need 3D!!!!

  4. “You’re looking for “soul” from a news kiosk? I’m just asking.”

    of course not. just trying to fit in. i thought it was in vogue on Brownstoner to call anything built after 1920 in Brooklyn soulless.
