The union rat was parked outside of the 5th Avenue branch of Neergaard Pharmacy yesterday afternoon. According to the union guys, they were protesting the sign company Neergaard is employing. GMAP

  1. Agreed Snappy.

And back to my original point…Neergaard has been in Park Slope since 1888…clearly they are doing SOMETHING RIGHT!!

I have faith they will choose an appropriate sign. They have a very lovely 2nd location on 7th Avenue as well, although it’s a much smaller space.

  2. Joe, who gives a rat’s ass (no pun intended!) what the new sign looks like or if the non-union workers get a 5 minute break? I go to Neergaard because they are open 24/7 and I can get my meds reasonably quickly, unlike Rite-Aid that makes you wait for a minimum of 2 hours. I couldn’t possibly care less what they do to the sign and I’m willing to bet most other patrons don’t care either.

Attention Walmart shoppers! If you don’t care what the outside of buildings look like, why are you on Brownstoner?

  4. Yes, we did see a rat run by us. I don’t think it was a union rat because it looked like it was actually working.

    Can’t compete w/ slave labor.

  5. Question…what’s the deal with that “Ronnie’s Girls” discount store just out of the picture on the left. They have been “Going Out of Business!!!” for at least 2.5 years now. I thought there was a law against saying that just to get people in the door to buy stuff?

  6. I’m curious to see if the new sign looks as good as the old union sign. Most of the new signs going up look like crap, hmm? Could it be that you get what you pay for? I’m sure the non-union guys working on the sign appreciate your comments during their daily 5 minute lunch/bathroom break.
