A few days ago we spotted a few people painting the Jersey barriers on Flushing Avenue. The design looked really promising, and we were told to check it out again in a few days when the work was finished. Well, The L just ran a great write-up of the project, which is now complete. As part of the Hands on New York Day, 400 volunteers painted barriers in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. The Flushing artwork was conceived by artists Taliah Lempert and Eugenie Tung, who did quite a lovely job sprucing up the otherwise dreary ride along Flushing.
