To make navigating this supersized Mayberry manageable, we planned day trips around three of our favorite areas — Greenpoint and Williamsburg; Atlantic Avenue, Carroll Gardens, and Red Hook; and Prospect Park and Park Slope (highlighted on map) — then homed in on the best spots to shop, eat, and explore.” Brooklyn as a “supersized Mayberry”? OK.

“how dare you out me like that!!!!”
LMAO, *rob*. I didn’t NAME you in my last post. What makes you think anyone would know I was talking about you.
His “Grrrrr” tells me he was just joking, cobble.
“how dare you out me like that!”
Oh yes, this news must be a severe shock to people. PUH-lease. We all talk about stuff you wear, in the OT, all the time!! THIS IS NOT NEWS!!
lollerskates. do you really think these people interact with most of their neighbors? um, no. they are beyond clannish and cliquey.
*rob*
Bullshit. I personally know that the ones in my immediate area (such as Farmacy, Holler and Squall, and Jalopy) know tons of people in the neighborhood and are very involved in the community. There is nothing snotty or clannish about them. Would you like to be introduced so that you can get out from behind your Brownstoner persona and interact with actual humans instead of making assumptions about “moonfaces”?
The idea for this article is rather contrived but many of these businesses are among my faves. And the pie at Four and Twenty is fantastic. (Small town does not equal midwest. Many of the people in this round-up are from New England and the South, actually.)
“oh snap, no i dinnnnnnt!”
I love how Rob thinks he’s just slayed someone.

No, you just go out wearing a Hannah Montana hat, pajama bottoms, 2 different color socks, and a rat fur coat, and you carry a Miss Kitty bag and a giant pink balloon to make it easy to spot you.
how dare you out me like that!!!! it’s not MY fault the value stores and dollar stores have jacked up their prices since the moonface invasion! grrrr!
*rob*
If I’m from the midwest but prefer places like The Islands (during the week) and Kaz An Nou (weekends) does that make me a self-hating moonface?
“well at least i dont go out dressed like one”
