Brownstoner Garden: Day 8
The rain this week hasn’t helped the progress in the garden. Over the past couple of days though, our contractor was able to smooth out the soil and lay out the bluestone patio while bringing in the sod and the lattice fence. Hope it clears up soon! Previously: Revised Plan [Brownstoner]

“I think we’d all agree that kids without sandboxes don’t develop good playdate skills and are unlikely to get into St. Anns…”
Having a sandbox or a slide in backyard is nothing to do with raising smart kids. This is about marking it as a great family space, right? My nephew,”A” student in Trinity School, was never interested in playing in sandbox. Some kids are like that. Grow vegetables and flowers with kids will be fun too!
we have storage, we have things for the children to play with – thank you for your concern and input. linus is not mr. brownstoner. I love thomson villard!
So stop reading them. If that’s all it takes to stop you from owning, you must not really want to be an owner.
Boy this crap makes me want to barf. I long for the good ol’ days of Brownstoner that I remember from last spring. There is nothing that makes me want to own a home less than hearing the constant inane babble from the people who contribute to these 40-comment response boards.
OMG, you people are too funny–those meaning to be, but especially those who are serious. Thanks for some real laughs on a crappy day!
I just want a back yard, period.
I’m filling my backyard with asbestos grass and glass shards. I want my kids to be tough.
I think you fill it all up with plastic balls cf Ikea’s playroom. If sandbox = future architect, the ball playroom must = … something!
I’m not sure if Mr Brownstoner is serious about haivng a vasectomy, but if he wants a child free lifestyle it could be a sensible solution because the expense of the procedure would be counteracted by savings on the purchase and upkeep of balloons (or other garden items that children enjoy, for example inflatable pool or a see saw).
