  2. are you expecting something in the mail? jeez. nothing good comes in the mail after xmas anyway. it’s all bills for the longest time. at least you can blame the snow and say you never got the bill in the mail!!

  3. After shoveling I rewarded myself with a walk to K-Dog, on Lincoln Rd., for a latte and bagel. Bedford and Flatbush Avenues haven’t been plowed. Bedford is blocked by stuck cars and buses, Flatbush by the same, plus 18 wheelers. I think it might be a while before plows can get through. The Q and B trains are out (I’d think because of snow drifts on the tracks in their open cut). I presume the trains under Nostrand Ave. are running, but I’m happy I don’t have to go anywhere.

In answer to Rob’s question, bodegas are open, but NO newspapers (delivery trucks can’t get through). I doubt that it’s any better across the park.

  4. Dibs – most streets are NOT PLOWED
Park slope is not plowed – and I am talking about 5th avenue etc
so not sure how they would even get the trucks up the avenues, let alone up the streets
are you waiting for a catalog?

  5. Rob, you think cigarettes are relaxing. And the motion of breathing in and out slowly is relaxing and there is something kind of cool about the smoke thing….BUT, actually physiologically, it is a stimulant and makes you wired. If I could quit, anybody can. I did it cold turkey. For 10 days, (that is how long the physical addiction takes to kick) I felt like crap, sort of sweaty and nauseated, and after 10 days, I swear I was done. It was really worth it. I was very proud of it.

  6. rob, quite smoking. With the $400 saved you can spend $65 on a gym membership where you can work off the nervous energy. An endorphin high from exercise is almost as nice a martini/glass of wine/botttle of beer nerve soother.

  7. rf: i have boxes of nicorette, boxes of the patches, prescriptin chantix, and an unused as of yet prescription for Wellbutrin (supposedly that helps to quit but im a bit chary cuz it’s an anti-depressant and i dont want to start taking it and walking around all faux happy all the time)
