What a disaster. Nine months after opening, Anselmo’s Pizzeria at 354 Van Brunt Street in Red Hook has closed, a victim, apparently, of a nasty business relationship between the restaurant’s owner and the landlords. M4L, great point!
Stonergut, the pizza was good. It’s hard not to be with the coal oven. Little to no atmosphere though so I only went once.
How was the pizza? The place looked kind of sketchy to me.
if you cant get paid for the renov, f*ck it up before you leave – ie you do own the renovated stuff you put in

Why soitenly!
I agree with those who say that there is more to this story than meets the eye.
Rob, I think you actually would have liked the place. It was coal oven pizza but in very humble surroundings.
benson, can one just wander in to use the terlet.
I would think the tenant at least has a claim for the value of the improvements — the landlord doesn’t just get to keep the benefit of the build-out. Cobble, I think you’re right.
meh. they probably charged 5 bux a slice anyway. and most people in the hood aint gonna pay 5 bux a slice. teeny tiny pepperoni violin.
