From the Forum: Would an Artificial Lawn be as Soft as Grass?

A dead patch of grass in their lawn is leading homeowners to considering installing an artificial lawn. Will they need to install both gravel and a weed barrier? Will the lawn be soft enough for young children and the inevitable falls during play time?
