From the Forum: Taking Advantage of State and Federal Rehabilitation Tax Credit Programs
A homeowner with a two-family brownstone Is considering taking advantage of historic tax credit programs during their renovation project.
A homeowner with a two-family brownstone is considering taking advantage of historic tax credit programs during their renovation project. They know that there are state and federal programs for income producing properties that meet qualifying criteria, such as being listed on the National Register of Historic Places, but are looking for advice from others who have gone through the process. Do the programs make sense for a smaller renovation project? How difficult is the approval process?
Please chime in with your advice.
