Address: 664 Jefferson Ave, between Stuyvesant and Malcolm X
Type: Private House
Neighborhood: Bedford Stuyvesant, Stuyvesant Heights East
Year Built: 1870’s
Architectural Style: Italianate
Architect: Unknown
Why chosen: This is a fine example of a middle class Brooklyn Italianate frame house. Bed Stuy is not known for them, yet they can be found throughout the neighborhood. This one is in close to original condition, with beautiful gingerbread trim on the porch, original fish scale shingles, and a strong cornice. The present colors have great curb appeal, and it’s a wonderful gem of a house. GMAP
Pete, a friend of mine is interested in it exactly as it is!!!
20’x25′ house on 25′ x 100′ lot.
in bldg boom times this would be a teardown and bigger structure put in. (assuming not historic district)
Cute house but the size of lot/FAR itself is of value.
Pigeon, yeah, I just got in. there was a time in the recent past when I couldn’t after, like, 3:00 or so.
btw, it’s only 25 ft deep.
But it’s on a 100 ft lot.
It very well could be, rob. Just because a house built in 1870 is lopsided though is no reason to dismiss it. The leaning tower of Pizza has bean lopsided for centuries.
Dibs,
I’m a non-paying subscriber to Propertyshark and I can get into it. I don’t know why you can’t.
It says it sold for 350,000 in 2007. It doesn’t have any for sale info.
lol oh. i thought the house was just lopsided or sinking in the ground or something.
*rob*
couldnt they at least have washed it before trying to sell it!? otherwise, it could be a cute house i guess.
