Address: 664 Jefferson Ave, between Stuyvesant and Malcolm X
Type: Private House
Neighborhood: Bedford Stuyvesant, Stuyvesant Heights East
Year Built: 1870’s
Architectural Style: Italianate
Architect: Unknown
Why chosen: This is a fine example of a middle class Brooklyn Italianate frame house. Bed Stuy is not known for them, yet they can be found throughout the neighborhood. This one is in close to original condition, with beautiful gingerbread trim on the porch, original fish scale shingles, and a strong cornice. The present colors have great curb appeal, and it’s a wonderful gem of a house. GMAP
“She was a lovely sounding woman and asked if i was the “dave from brownstoner!!!”
Causing Dave to get his first-ever female-inspired stiffy.
It’s the lens flare in that pic that really hurts!

babs, I had to put it in terms that he’d understand.

Pete, she admitted to being a lurker. Well, she didn’t say “lurker,” just that she read it a lot.
my gosh, DIBS is famous. Did she ask for autograph?
babs, I had to put it in terms that he’d understand. I’m glad someone finally caught it. I was beginning to lose my faith in brownstoners and how well they knew their geography.
Leaning tower of Pizza — hungry much DIBS?
I spoke with his secretary. She was a lovely sounding woman and asked if i was the “dave from brownstoner!!!” I did not get any details on the house. I want to see exactly how much work it needs.
The short sale situation is indeed tragic.
This cute little house has gotten itself into a sketchy little situation. I spoke with the broker, the esteemed “Mr. Keith” as proclaimed on the for sale sign. In our brief communication, Mr. Keith demonstrated his cultivated professionalism, on par with those in the uppermost echelons of pawn and bail bond brokerage. This unfortunate but lovely historic house is a short sale available to the brave at an enticing price of $250,000. I’m told it needs work.
