Remember the rendering of the four-story, two-family home at 414 Waverly Avenue in the Clinton Hill Historic District? CB2 gave its stamp of approval but it looks like the owners (and designers) are going to have to go back to the drawing boards. Their hearing with LPC was this week and no action was taken to approve. LPC advised them to lower the height of the building and reconsider the proportions of some of the windows. No date was set for their return.

  1. Well, the top bit looks rather tacky, but the rest seems completely in keeping with the character of the adjacent properties… not sure I’d agree with ‘hideous.’

  2. Waverly is nothing but low slung carriage houses, this would have been a nice addition for someone to spruce up the street and make back some money on the high construction costs in the city.

  3. Thanks be to Jesus! That building looks hideous. How did they possibly think that would be approved?! I can’t believe CB2 had voted to allow the building of such a blight in the community!
