A condo at 252 Gates Avenue in Bed Stuy has closed above the price of many whole houses in the area, $1,830,000, setting a record for the neighborhood, The New York Post reported. The four-bedroom, three-bath duplex, Unit No. 1, in a Parfitt Brothers-designed Queen Anne brick and brownstone townhouse was originally asking $1,899,000.

Alex Maroni of Douglas Elliman was the agent. The previous condo record was $1,250,000 for a three-bedroom, two-bath apartment at 105 Lexington Avenue, No. 4H.

The house, which sold for $1,450,000 in 2012 before it was converted into condos, is on a record setting block close to Clinton Hill. Next door, 254 Gates, also designed by Parfitt Brothers, set a record in 2013 when it sold for $2,200,000. Down the street, a narrow brownstone with an unusual renovation eclipsed that record when it sold for an even $3,000,000 this summer.
