Take in a Day on the Farm in Prospect Park

You don’t have to leave the borough’s borders to have a fun day on the farm this weekend.

Farm animals have grazed upon the grasses of Prospect Park before and goats have made their return to the park in time for the Fun on the Farm event this month. As part of the event, attendees can take self-guided tours to gaze up on the goats and learn about their role in the park’s woodland restoration efforts.

Other activities during the farm-focused afternoon include sheep shearing and wool spinning demonstrations, and a parade from Prospect Park Zoo through the park’s grounds. If you want to get your hands on some wool, you can help wash the fleece freshly shorn from the sheep and learn how to make felt balls from wool.

Fun on the Farm will take place from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21 at the Lefferts Historic House in Prospect Park. The event is free of charge, but RSVPs are recommended. To learn more about the event and to reserve your place, click here.
