It was pretty obvious that three froyo joints were never going to be able to survive within a few blocks of each other on the pricy retail stretch of Court Street in Downtown Brooklyn, so news of Yogo Monster’s demise comes as no surprise. The shop’s demise is spelled out in the form of a For Rent sign on the outside of the storefront at 115 Court Street. With Yofiore at 32 Court having already folded its cards, that leaves Red Mango at 125 Court with free reign. GMAP

  1. We’ve had a great response so far and the chocolate crickets are selling better than I expected which is just crazy. Kids just cant get enough….

Our combos menu is a big success so hope you guys stop in and give it a try. If you mention the Brownstoner you’ll get 10% off any froyo. Thanks for your support.

  2. I will never get the snarky crap that all of the same voices here spew.

In every case like this, someone took a risk with hard earned money thinking they would succeed. Just because much of the crowd commenting here didn’t care for the product doesn’t mean that there isn’t real pain for someone behind this venture. No business opens its doors expecting to fail.

But most importantly, the shrillest of the voices here incessantly decrying uses that landlords accept would be the very first ones in line to accept the same if they ever had the means or resources to be put in a position to make such a decision.

All of that being said, certain landlords get what they deserve. The former F. Martinella’s site comes to mind.

  3. Russians (gay or straight) love these places. there is a Russian version on Sheepsheadbay Road called Arbuz (Watermelon in Russian) and it’s always packed.

I personally love Red Mango and go every chance I get.
