35 mcdonald avenue windsor terrace 12015

Here’s a swanky one-bedroom condo for rent in an unusual-looking (postmodernist?) building in Windsor Terrace. It’s so swanky that the spacious pad has two bathrooms and a glass-walled balcony with a grill. The kitchen also has a rolling island and there’s a washer/dryer. It’s six blocks from the F/G trains at Fort Hamilton Parkway and eight from 15th Street-Prospect Park station. It’s next to Green-Wood and less than mile from Prospect Park. Do you think someone will rent this for $2,650 a month?

  1. That’s basically an amenity-free location. Fine I suppose for somebody who doesn’t mind driving to everything, but really not a good location in any way. Though the cemetery neighbors are usually quiet.

    • Yes the immediate area is a bit desolate, but there’s slowly but surely things opening on Ft Hamilton, and what is often ignored by those who haven’t lived in this area, is the utility of the 7th Avenue buses. The B67 and B69 make for a very convenient 10-15 minute journey into the heart of Park Slope, with whatever amenities you might need. Going toward the slope, you’re near the beginning of the route, so the bus is almost always on time. Coming back, less so, but at least there’s Bus Time now.

If one can get accustomed to riding the bus, this is a convenient spot in terms of access to Park Slope with drastically lower prices.

  2. This building is nice, but I would NEVER live there. McDonald is a tremendously busy truck route between 20th St and Church, and living in that building is committing to the thunder of engine braking all day, all night, every day, every night. Terrace Pl is also where everyone turns without looking, racing onto Prospect Expwy heading toward Manhattan.

It looks like this unit is in the back, which would help, but you still have to live on that street.

  3. Yes it’s a wonderful area, but I used to live on E 2 in a rear-facing unit and could not imagine living on McDonald itself. To each their own I suppose.
