We think a new paint job would do wonders for this late 19th-century brick row house. The flat white on white obscures the original details, such as elaborate moldings and plaster work. The shiny electric blue room isn’t doing it for us either.

But the issues with this property appear to be strictly decorative. The mechanicals are all new, with central air, and there are four mantels plus a wood burning fireplace, as well as assorted extras such as a wet bar and wine fridge. Whisk away those lucite stools and the kitchen isn’t half bad.  The walk-in closet and library on the third floor are also a nice touch.

What’s your opinion of it for $3,850,000?

  1. This is my favorite block in the entire city. And I’ve always loved this house and its twin next door.
But…sigh. The price is something else. It’s a 2300 sf house on a 17×50 foot lot.
