Aptsandlotft.com announced that it’s going to start leasing at the seven-story 50 North 5th Street (previously known as 204 Wythe, the old Western Carpet site) later this summer. The building includes 229 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments, some with private terraces. Here’s the snazzy-looking website. DNAinfo elaborated on the “boutique hotel-style environment” the developers are going for: It’ll have a landscaped roof deck, a basketball court, a billiard room, and a lobby opening into a courtyard. There’s even a waterfall in the courtyard. David Maundrell, of Aptsandlots.com, told DNAinfo that they are hoping to appeal to “young and social residents of the neighborhood,” and he made comparisons to the Ace Hotel. Rental pricing for hip, hotel living in Williamsburg is yet to be decided.
