Looks like the retail space at 68 Jay Street in Dumbo is getting a makeover, according to Dumbo NYC. The Daylight Factory-style building in the Dumbo Historic District has transitional American round arch elements and was designed by William Higginson and built in 1915, according to the Landmarks Preservation Commission. The master plan submitted to the LPC calls for a standardized signage scheme and removal of the existing awnings, signs and lighting — all of which violate landmark rules. The hearing takes place Sept. 4 at 9:30 am at 1 Centre Street in Manhattan.
