Kappa Sake House at 388 5th Avenue is not long for this world and will soon be replaced with a restaurant specializing in comfort food. At this week’s community board meeting, the owner of the new space says she plans to open a family-friendly restaurant with “backyard-type food,” like potato salad and deviled eggs. It’ll serve lunch and dinner, with an outdoor area open in the spring. CB6’s licensing committee made a motion to approve the business’s liquor license request. GMAP
