Moving to the ‘Burbs, an evening hosted by Brownstoner Home Events at the Brooklyn Historical Society, is designed to help relocators navigate the move out of New York City.

The event, on Thursday, November 8 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., will feature a group of brokers who will offer advice about moving to Westchester, Port Washington in Long Island, and Essex County in New Jersey.

According to Allison Ziefert and Ginge Calhoun of the Allison Ziefert Real Estate Group of Keller Williams MidTown Direct Realty in Maplewood, N.J., it’s almost comical to look at a sign-in sheet from one of their open houses. “It’s all Brooklynites,” says Calhoun.

These experts have helped relocators from Park Slope, Gowanus, Cobble Hill, Williamsburg, Clinton Hill and Bed Stuy transition seamlessly to popular towns in their Essex County marketplace, like Maplewood, South Orange, West Orange and Montclair.

“Fall is a great time to check out the area,” says Ziefert, whose team is sponsoring Diwali Fest NJ 2018 and the Maplewood Halloween Parade. “Buyers who had trouble competing in multiple bids during the spring often find success in the ‘off season.’”
