Celebrate the bright colors of spring in historic surroundings with the floral abundance of the Lyndhurst in Bloom Flower Show. Designers work their magic on the Tarrytown mansion for one weekend, transforming the already rich interiors into a botanic fantasyland.
Visitors will be able to stroll through three floors of the Alexander Jackson Davis-designed dwelling to admire the visual extravagance. Last year, there were moments both bold and subtle, from a dramatic dining-room tablescape filled with tulips, daffodils, and calla lilies to a lovely single orchid tucked into a food chopper in the kitchen.

This year the 1890s bowling alley building will also be adorned with floral displays, and a food vendor will be on hand inside. Additional refreshments will also be available in a pop-up cafe in the welcome center. For those inspired by all the botanic beauty, a spring market will have more than 30 vendors offering garden-related gifts as well as plants and flowers for sale.
The event takes place Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6 at Lyndhurst at 635 South Broadway in Tarrytown, N.Y. The flower show is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tickets are required. Two ticket options are being offered. One allows entry into the mansion as well as all the activities on the grounds, while the other excludes access to the mansion. Tickets range in price from $29 to $35. There will be a free shuttle bus running on the grounds to assist visitors in getting to the various locations.
Full information on the events of the day and tickets can be found on the Lyndhurst website.
