It never fails: Memorial Day weekend rolls around, and we start hankering for rental properties upstate. This usually leads us down a rabbit-hole search of phenomenal properties available for the summer season…which usually come with prices that make camping in an old Army tent and subsisting on beanie-weenies for a weekend sound more like our speed. Regardless, looking is a good time, so let’s take a stroll down Fantasy Lane and explore some of the finer rental properties in the upstate area.

Looking for a massive five-bedroom mansion on the Hudson River? We found it for you. The bedrooms look positively dreamy, and West Camp is a stunning area, offering unparalleled views of nature and the river. Beds: 5. Baths: 7. Square Feet: 7,000. We can’t talk about summer rentals without checking out at least one lake house. This beauty is located on Whaley Lake in the Dutchess County hamlet of Holmes in Pawling. The interior is nice, but we were drawn to the exterior features — specifically, the access to the lake itself. We would never get out of the water. Beds: 3. Baths: 3. Square Feet: 2,000.
