  1. I agree 100 percent! I think the city is a great place to raise a kid, and it’s not necessary to have a whole other house (and therefore a car!) for a kid to grow up and be healthy (physically and emotionally). I think suburban kids lose more than city kids.

  2. “”surely you can give your child your understanding of how the world works without putting him in opposition to anyone else who thinks differently.”

    bxgrl,
    Surely you are joking?
I’m not raising my kids to be average,”

I think I can infer that from the above.
Your first post was to sound like you were proud he was losing friends. Only after much posting back and forth do you explain it’s verbal bullying. Blame your posting style.

  3. Being able to get along with people makes you average? Now had you said verbal bullying in your first post my answer would have been different but you did not make that clear at all. No kid should have to put up with bullying. But that’s not how you made it sound.

  4. Why are you assuming then that he is being bullied or othr parents are idiots/ You’re the one who used those terms and if I’m assuming anything, its from reading what you wrote. You sound exactly like two of my closest childhood friends who were so convinced thety were always right and their kid never ever did anything wrong that they broke up childhood friendship with my sister- who was their maid of honor. It was like ripping apart my family and things have never been the same since.
