I offered a very fair price. (Not my usual cheap ass practice)
Nonetheless, the seller was unhappy.
Made an offer in writing. Got a loan for 75% of price pre-approved, and shared my financial statements.
Then supposedly there was another buyer who “offered full price”.
Deal dead.
Apparently the other buyer, who “offered full price”, turned out to have no money.
Deal Back On. Promises go back and forth to finalize.
The other buyer re-emerged.
Deal Dead.
The other buyers attorney supposedly kills the contract.
Deal Back On — but now the seller wants to continue to “market the apt aggresively”
I finally agree to this because I realize it is BS and am confident that my price is the most any reasonable person would pay.
The seller agrees to have the contract and other docs delivered to my attorney yesterday morning.
Still nothing delivered.
Broker assures me documents will be in my lawyers hands by this afternoon.
What is it w/ the time on here? It says my post was at 12:35 but my ‘puter says it’s 12:34 & I posted a couple of minutes ago. I’ve noticed that discrepancy for days now.
Biffers – If you end up (no pun intended) having to get the part made I’d suggest Ricardo – 718 499 1153 or 917 359 5447. He’s a real artist w/ iron & his prices are reasonable. Tell him I recommended you.
DH, I think it will be a good thing for the other flea market. Going to a flea market isn’t like going to Target! It will attract more customers I think if there is more than one place, like when all the parking lots on 6th Ave. in the 20s in Manhattan had flea markets on the weekend.
DCB- somehow it seems most real estate deals are painful to someone 🙂 But in any case, Welcome to the nabe. You should check out the Nostrand Park blog for lots of great information about the area. I love it over here- I’m sure you and your wife will too.
11217, just how many 25 dollar shrimprolls, ill fitting granny dresses, and fecal matter paintings, did you really buy that you will miss it so much?!
*rob*

And so it goes.

Painfully difficult time with the seller and the broker.
Do tell.
DH, I think it will be a good thing for the other flea market. Going to a flea market isn’t like going to Target! It will attract more customers I think if there is more than one place, like when all the parking lots on 6th Ave. in the 20s in Manhattan had flea markets on the weekend.
DH- did you email me? If so, I didn’t get it.
DCB- somehow it seems most real estate deals are painful to someone 🙂 But in any case, Welcome to the nabe. You should check out the Nostrand Park blog for lots of great information about the area. I love it over here- I’m sure you and your wife will too.
