  1. Thanks Jessi! Morocco was obviously not at all like you see on TV and movies. Progressive Muslim Monarchy but that’s about it. I didn’t only stay in fifi areas of Casablanca and Agadir and actually saw some smaller villages…oy vey. Makes me LOVE and appreciate America even more so.

Loads of goats all around actually. At every touristy site, there are a bunch of Moroccans with snakes, baby goats and Camels coercing you into taking pictures. The Souks look like a very huge version of Canal Street. Loads of fake Burberry and Gucci and most of “Moroccan” jewelry looks like it was made in China.

A lot of malnutritioned cats and dogs wondering the street and I saw a skinned cats (with eyes and all) in one of the freezers with glass at one of the small stands in the meat market. DISGUSTING.

The guide was telling us how this current king is awesome. First time in Morocco that women can ride motorcycles and drive cars alone. He is also the first King who allows his wife to be shown. No one besides immediate family has ever seen what his mom or grandma looked like after marriage to the Kings.

The huge mosque in Casablanca was pretty nice. We went to the baths downstairs where only rich people are welcomed. 99.9% of morocco have never seen the inside of it. When the King entertains his friends down there, woman and booze are allowed (screw the fact that it’s a mosque).

Funchal, Madeira Islands was breathtaking. One of the most beautiful islands I have ever been to. Not much to do there BUT it is surreal. You walk around and you feel like you are looking at a picture in a book. Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous.

Canary Islands, Malaga and Barcelona were kicking. Loads of Sangria, Tapas and wandering street (not streetwalking). Also went to the Picasso museum in Malaga where a bunch of his estate donated painting are that have never seen the site of other museums so was fun to see some of his stuff that doesn’t travel around. Very small and nicely curated museum.

    I think that’s it.
