  1. Sure, this thread is snarky, but this is a snarkworthy flyer.

    It might be fine for a lost cat, but not for a $899,000 house.

    If you were in the market for a house, and you saw this flyer, would you make the call?

  2. “04/15/2011 Listed for sale *$899,000 QUALITY HOME SALES CORP.

    09/03/2010 Sold $517,000 Public Record”

    Either something is wrong with that Public Record or that deal was done under the table with a lot of unreported cash changing hands. Or something is SERIOUSLY wrong with that property.

    We were looking at Brownstones in the first half of 2010, and as I said had a contract out on 72 Downing. Even after deciding on our condo in June, I kept an eye on the Brownstone market to see if anything really popped out that might make us reconsider the condo, and that property, at that price, NEVER came onto my radar.

  3. “While I don’t particularly admire Jon Butler for posting this item, it’s surely political correctness gone mad to try to defend this “broker”. That sign is — at best — skeevy and unprofessional.”

    Grand Pa;

    I agree that the broker’s professionalism and effectiveness is open to question. To have Mr. B. snark on it as if he doesn’t have an interest in the matter makes a statement about his class and professionalism.

  4. It doesn’t look illiterate to me, though I prefer the British spelling of “story”. However he clearly wasn’t paying attention during penmanship classes.

  5. If that ad is a marketing ploy I think it’s great. As to Mr. B’s putting it up, perhaps he’s played into the hands of a very clever campaign. I doubt very seriously that the poster was done by an illiterate w/ no access to a computer or printer.

  6. While I don’t particularly admire Jon Butler for posting this item, it’s surely political correctness gone mad to try to defend this “broker”. That sign is — at best — skeevy and unprofessional.
