One of a row of early 20th century brick houses, this Windsor Terrace single-family offers some charm on the interior with details like wood floors, built-ins, wainscoting and vintage kitchen details. At 21 Kermit Place, it also has the appeal of being near Prospect Park, although the Prospect Expressway is closer.

When built, the row of houses with front porches and tile-covered faux roofs, had Henry Street addresses. The confusion of having two Henry Streets in Brooklyn wasn’t resolved until 1922 when the Kermit Place name was extended to include this block.

On the interior of the 20-foot-wide house the aforementioned built-ins are part of a columned divider between the front parlor, with wood floors and picture rails, and the dining room beyond. The dining room has a bay window looking over the rear yard and the popular wainscoting and plate shelf of the period.

Adjoining the dining room is a kitchen with more than a share of retro style with a terra-cotta colored tile floor, original wood cabinets and a vintage porcelain sink with drainboard. In a nod to modern needs, the original nook for a more modestly sized refrigerator has been used for a stove and space made elsewhere for a larger model. A window and a transom look into the attached breakfast nook, which has the same tile floor and room for table and chairs.

Upstairs are four bedrooms and the only full bath in the house. Some creative rethinking might allow for the inclusion of a second bath behind the existing one to create an en suite for the largest bedroom. The bedrooms all have wood floors, although in one of the smaller rooms, set up as a nursery, the floor has been painted a bright blue.

There is a water closet in the basement, which also has a laundry room with sink and space for a rec room. The listing mentions that the space is paneled, but no photos are included.

The rear yard is mostly paved although there are planting beds. The geraniums appear to be a bit of virtual staging, but beds wrap along the edge of the yard and another is near the rear of the space.

Listed with Daniella Guetta of Compass, the property is priced at $1.448 million. Worth the ask?
