This floor-through in an early 20th century Windsor Terrace row house has some fetching details on display, including built-ins, wood floors and tin ceilings. It also boasts in-unit laundry and Prospect Park at the end of the block, which might make the monthly nut more palatable.

It is on the top floor of 275 Windsor Place, a brick house that is one of a row developed by William M. Calder. A U.S. Senator and prolific builder, in 1906 he was busy building and selling more than 100 two-family houses in the area surrounding Windsor Place and 16th Street, moving the Brooklyn Daily Eagle to proclaim the project “one of the largest real estate developments in Brooklyn during the last year.” Eventually Calder put up so many homes in Windsor Terrace that the neighborhood, a “happy, thriving community of homeowners,” according to the Brooklyn Daily Eagle in 1912, was known as Calderville.

The two-bedroom unit is set up with a living room in the angled bay facing the street and bedroom and kitchen at the rear. In the middle is a dining room. A second, smaller bedroom is off the living room.

In the living room, the tin ceiling is particularly ornate while the dining room has a more sedate ceiling and the addition of wall moldings. The largest bedroom — originally built as a dining room — is packed with details, including wainscoting with ornate infill, built-in storage and the wood floor with inlaid border that is found throughout most of the unit.

The windowed kitchen, with aqua counters, white cabinets and a tile floor, appears to be in fine condition and includes a stackable washer/dryer. The dryer appears to be gas and vented to the outside.

More built-in storage is in the second bedroom, which is large enough for a twin bed. There’s no floor plan and no mention of closets so beyond the built-ins it isn’t clear how much additional storage space is in the unit.

The full bath has white fixtures and wall tiles with a black border tile and a black and white basketweave tile floor.

Listed with Kristen Larkin and Diane Larkin of Compass, it is priced at $3,200 a month. Worth the ask?
