Tough Going at 211 23rd Street
In November of 2009, 211 23rd Street attempted a guerilla campaign in Park Slope, with posters and spray paintings popping up all around the neighborhood. The sales effort began way back in 2007, when prices ranged from the mid-$400,000’s to $889,000; when sales relaunched last November, the price range was $563,748 to $811,578. These days,…

These days, StreetEasy shows no recorded sales on this eight-unit building, and listings were once again yanked a few weeks ago this month. Looks like we can expect another price drop soon…how low should they go to get these units moving? Or is it time to go rental?

location and price combo i think are worse than the ugly design of the building. there’s tons of new construction on 21st and even more competition up 4th ave and on the north side of the prospect like at 500 4th. i’d say they’d be hard pressed to even get the 2007 prices they were looking for. who is going to pay 500 for a studio on 23rd and 5th (yes, even a scarano duplex studio)
“which has been built and, it would seem, largely occupied, while this has been sitting vacant,”
Nope, building just finished…like that barber-style reflective mirror window for the first floor…just as fugly, but not as offensive (on so many level) as 211.
Is that… Is that FINISHED? Like, is that what it is supposed to look like forever? OMG.
Just hideous, even worse than the one a few days ago on this site.
Their bad marketing is still painted on the sidewalks all over the neighborhood. They should have to clean it all before they are given any C of O, plus make a large donation to the local park and school.
there is a building just down that block, toward 4th ave, which is simultaneously less attractive and less offensive, which has been built and, it would seem, largely occupied, while this has been sitting vacant,
It keeps getting better! Anyone check out the video on their website?
“Live like a celeb in a young, vibrant neighborhood, just 30 minutes from Manhattan”…
Oh boy are they in trouble if they’re marketing to the “youth” who are now in 50+thousand dollars of student loan debt and most likely jobless. If you come from money, you’re likely to buy in Williamsburg, no?
W “time to go rental?” How about time to pull out all the wet/rotten building materials and properly finish the place. It’s been in the same state of disrepair since 2006-07!
Rob, spot on!
They tore down a 2 family frame that had good bones s do 90% of the building in the area…don’t judge a home by its vinyl!) and threw up (sorry for the pun) this POS.
No need fr me to go off again on this “beam me up Scotty” abortion.
Karma’s a bitch.
