Scaffolding’s up at 37 Lafayette Avenue, the four-story apartment building previously on the market with “preliminary plans for a boutique hotel that is eco friendly with a green construction.” Douglas Elliman pulled the listing this October, according to StreetEasy. It was last on the market for $4,199,000, and a sale has yet to show up on public records. DOB approved the most recent permits for installation of scaffolding and a sidewalk shed with “no change in use, egress, or occupancy.” Looking at the back end, though (pictured right), interior construction has already begun. Anybody heard about plans for this site?
