Remember that new small development project on 21st Street that we recently told you had scored a LEED Platinum rating? Well, it’s now on the market so you can see what it looks like on the inside. It’s got a name, too: The Silhouette. The units, which should appeal to buyers with a modern bias, range in price from $859,000 for the second-floor two-bedroom to $930,000 for the one on the top floor. Nice, right?

Greenwood Heights Project Scores LEED Platinum Rating [Brownstoner]
Snappy;
Acid wash. Can be applied to any type of brick facade to clean it up.
20th St is loud from the Semis that use it as a route to Prospect Expressway. It’s the hill that really does it though. When a truck is stopped at the light at say, 5th ave and 20th and then accelerates up the hill to 6th…. It’s LOUD. So loud…..
Oh, wait…paint the cinderblock Mondrian style using bright colors. Ahhh…I need to own.
Greenwood, is there a process that can re-shine (is that a word?!) the brick once it begins to fade?
I LOVE IT!
I love love contemporary design when done right.
BUT that wall of cinder blocks reminds me of a prison. It looks great on the small wall in the bathroom, but that’s about it.
Love this building, and also really like the cinderblock walls.
Sort of reminds me of some 60s apt buildings I’ve seen in malaysia and hong kong that are covered in glazed tile. They do show age when they get old- I’d imagine the brick glazing would age in a similar way. However, it can look kind of cool with some fading, and some crinkly little cracks, with some parts still retaining the shine.
20th Street is loud, but I would argue it’s no where near the loudest. It gets two way truck traffic most of the day. And not just regular trucks…semis.
why is 20th street the loudest? there is a building on president that is mega loud too. ironically it’s a section 8 building
*rob*
It will also be interesting to see how shiny black brick weathers over time. I hope it stays as gorgeous as it is now.
