The Clermont Condominium, the 52-unit project at 375 Myrtle Avenue from BRP Development, is officially open for business. Nothing’s up on the Corcoran site yet, but last week a big banner was unfurled on the corner of the building and the stand-alone website is also accessible (though sans pricing info). The first 14 units to be released include a mix of one- and two-bedrooms as well as one three-bedroom penthouse. According to the site, one of the one-bedrooms is already in contract. This project will hopefully be a nice boost for the Myrtle renaissance that’s already well underway. We’ll be interested to see the prices.

I live near here and commute to wall street in 30 or less including the walk to the subway.
G train stinks…I would hate to live so close to Manhattan but have to take 3 trains.
3:20 here again. Just to reiterate for 3:37: is it exactly 30 minutes EVERY time EVERY day? No. But like I said it’s about 30 minutes average commute to 23rd and 6th for me +/- 5 minutes.
I don’t punch a clock, but I couldn’t drift in at 10:15, 10:20 everyday and still have a job.
3:20 here.
It’s about a 2-minute walk to the G (from Gates and Classon) then transfer to A/C at Hoyt, then I transfer to F at Jay or at West 4th. Depends on if there is an F waiting at Jay or not. When I do catch F at Jay it’s 12 -15 minutes to 23rd.
All I know is I leave my house around 9:30 and I am at my desk at work around 10. Give or take 5 minutes.
I have no stake in the argument and I personally wouldn’t live in this development, but I still think the “over an hour to midtown” statements are hyperbole.
3:30 I agree with you. These people have obviously never timed their commutes. Everyone should do this tomorrow and report back. Door to door.
How far a walk do you to the Classon G? You must then transfer at Hoyt-Schermerhorn to the A/C and then again at Jay St. to the F, right? From the Jay St. F it must about 20 minutes to get to 23rd and 6th. So considering walk time and waiting on the platform for 2 two transfers plus the train time from Classon to to Jay, how can you do that in 30 minutes?
I don’t live near here, but I work on 23rd St/6th Ave and I get there from Classon Ave G in 30 minutes on average.
I take the G to the A/C to the F, and it seems these extra long commuting claims are exaggerated at best.
I think you could walk from here to the Q stop at Dekalb and get into midtown pretty quickly.
I live on this block and it’s a 20 min walk to the subway.
The bus sucks!
