From a tipster: It looks like the boiler at the recently-completed Novo in Lower Park Slope isn’t doing to well, based on the emergency steam truck parked out front right now. This wouldn’t be too surprising, based on one buyer’s experience at his pre-closing walk-through.

  1. And one more thing that skinny building on 4th ave and Carroll is the biggest crap of all. The developer needs to be publicly spanked for that, anyone who buys into that building is really a big sucker, LOVE that 2 car parking spot on the corner of 4th and Carroll. What idiot thought that one up? Thanks Marty Markowitz for your leadership in turning 4th Ave into the NEW Park Ave, you suck too.

  2. once the kids are done with 321, they will all have asthma/emphysema from the 24 hour heavy truck traffic going up and down that 6 lane highway they call 4th ave, err the new park ave…

  3. I would rather rent for 8 years in the PS321 school district then have my money tied up in a crappy building. This place is pathetic. The housing projects over in Gowanus look better.

  4. Don’t get me wrong…the building is hideous.

But I’ve seen some of the 3 bedrooms selling for less than 800K, which is a “good deal” for a family who wants to put their kids in ps. 321 and live in a large apartment, which would cost at least a few thousand more a block or two up the hill.

It is pretty bad, though. Nothing redeeming about it, except the location, in my opinion.

  5. BB – Most of these places sold when everyone was worried the real estate market was going south anyway (quite some time pre-lehman). Yet they still sold at high prices. I’ve always found this place a bit bewildering.
