System Failure at The Novo
From a tipster: It looks like the boiler at the recently-completed Novo in Lower Park Slope isn’t doing to well, based on the emergency steam truck parked out front right now. This wouldn’t be too surprising, based on one buyer’s experience at his pre-closing walk-through. Tale of Woe at the Novo [Brownstoner] GMAP Signs of…

Should We Feel Sorry For Novo Contract Holders? [Brownstoner]
Regarding the skinny building on 4th and Carroll, the 2 parking spots under the building is called “greed”! Why make the lobby a little bigger with big windows and furniture and a nice waiting area, when you can get a few hundred dollars for a parking space. Greed ! Thats is in a nutshel.
That has to be the ugliest I’ve seen in years.
From what I’ve heard, Novo has already been zoned out of PS321.
As for the Argyle, I think it’s going to be the best looking of the new 4th Avenue buildings, unless they cheap out on the exterior finish. That’s setting the bar pretty low, I know…

my other favorite pos is the thing further down into no mans land the “argyle” the disgusting thing that wraps around a tenement…pity those fools even more
good luck thinking that your kids will get into 321 because you live on 4th avenue…the place is becoming so overcrowded that they will either have to turn kids away or have class sizes zoom up to 40
A little creativity and tasteful design always go a long way to make a building look less than dreck. Novo could’ve been a novelty on 4th Ave at the same cost. And drab it is.
billyboomer. the skinny building is a rental from what i understand. still doesn’t excuse the shoddiness…
4th Ave could have been good even great but once again NYC sucks in its urban planning. Really we all should be embarrassed by the lack of leadership in this city. It is so sad, a once great city turns it head and lets the greed and ignorance of some guy in sweat pants build and sell at inflated prices so he can have his faux marble bath in his McMansion in Jersey. Worse stuff than Trump.
