Is Brownstoner in decline or something? Why on earth is there a feature about a rental property, for God’s sake? A *rental*! I thought this was a serious blog.
Yes, these are cheaper than buying an equivalent space and carrying a mortgage plus maintenance, but what a bunch of depressing dumps!
Listings like these are the prime argument for buying vs. renting.
A building is collapsing as we speak on Smith Street.
LOL.
that one pic is terrible. Can’t they tidy up or keep a generic picture of the place before tenants move in.
“there are way cheaper rentals in prime park slope.”
Where? I’ve been looking and haven’t found anything unless it’s below 12th street…
I’d love to know. Lots of us artists and creative people prefer Park Slope because the cheaper rents you speak of. I just haven’t found any yet.

carroll gardens is alittle steep.
either way both hoods are pretty much the same place.
Smith Street is a joke.
In the past year, 5th has FAR outpaced Smith in terms of new and interesting retail and restaurants.
Last week, I counted 11 abandonded storefronts on Smith in as many blocks. Has ANYTHING opened there this past year?
Something is opening on 5th at LEAST once a week.
i looked at a 2bed 2bath place on the other side of the bqe at batlic and hicks for 1800. It was nice but the area is kinda out there from the F train.
You are bragging about 5 french people moving to Carroll Gardens?
Wow, you are desperate.
