Rental of the Day: 364 8th Street
This two-bedroom at 384 8th Street in Park Slope looks like a great package. There’s no square footage listed so we’re guessing it’s on the small side, and the kitchen is kind of a downer. Other than that, it looks like a lovely place. And at $2,000 a month, you’re getting a great location for…

Looks like a great place, except maybe the middle room is the common space if you have two roommates? So better for a couple and there’s (a little) room for a child.
It’s code for “We know the rent is way too high for a single person, even though is a very appropriate size apartment for a single person, so we are going to hint that two salaries are required because, well, that’s the case and if we say that it makes you feel a little better because we said this place was perfect for you and your second income.”
> Saying “perfect for the family..or…a share”…
How is this a violation? Seems like they are open to everyone.
Or is that code for “nobody is allowed to live here alone?”
babs,
is that guideline just on listing agents/brokerages? or that’s for individuals renting out their pad?
Saying “perfect for the family..or…a share” is a clear violation of Fair Housing laws. Shame on you PDE!
Its a great value. Although I suspect its a railroad apartment where you have one bedroom at one end and the other at the opposite end and the kitchen in the middle.
Can you stick to the ridiculously overpriced stuff? Nothing much to say about stuff like this.
Bet there is a fatal flaw somewhere otherwise at this price it would have rented before it made it to the website (like any reasonably priced rental).
Apart from the odd placement of the refrigerator, that looks like a very clean and decent kitchen — new cabinets even? The drawback is what’s been mentioned before. There’s likely a good-sized bedroom in rear but the 2nd bed is the tiny hall room to the right of the sitting room.
For a rental the kitchen is pretty much what you would expect for 2K a month. The rent isn’t bad either. You won’t find too many 2 bedrooms in that section of Park Slope for that amount.
