We’re liking the fireplace and the location of this one-bedroom at 183 Prospect Place in Prospect Heights. The third-floor pad looks decent but given the incredibly small kitchen (genius line: “perfect for someone who doesn’t cook much”) we’re guessing that this is not a floor-through apartment. Utilities are included in the $1,550-a-month price, as is the wall-to-wall carpet in the bedroom. Thoughts?

i think this listing will get enough lookers to move it.

but the streets and subways of nyc is effing dirty beyond words. what people track in on the bottom of their feet could be the subject of a complete james michener novel.

Whoa whoa whoa WHOA. Hold up.

Are you suggesting that after walking the streets of New York and riding the subways, you actually those nasty things on your feet and transfer the contents into your abode?

Are you fucking nuts? Shoes in the hallway, and don’t even think about it!

  2. the wall-to-wall looks to be only in the small bedroom.
Don’t be so condescending. We have w2w in our bedroom too.
Quieter when getting up in middle of night to use the bathroom.

but it looks like hardwood throughout the rest of the apt so maybe it can be pulled up.

  4. I am not a fan of w2w carpeting if I have to inherit it (i.e – a renter to renter situation)
but I certainly would consider w2w carpeting if I had a huge house and could put it in my master BR

Anyway – agreed, price is ok considering it’s on a good block and close to all – but yes the apt is a bit dingy and the kitchen is ugh!

  5. w2w carpeting IS gross and a total deal breaker for a lot of tenants. Where to begin? pet dander/cigarette smoke/spilled food stains/musty smells/ground in dirt/lingering odors/who knows what else, is carried over from previous tenant(s) who generally speaking do not exhibit the same level of care in LL’s property. On the flip side, how many LL’s do you know who will actually pay for a steam clean vs basic vacuum after each turnover? Very few.
