The building has seven three-bedroom apartments spread out over ten floors; this particular place is boasts 2,200 square feet of interior space plus its own balcony. Everything looks sizable and we’d imagine the floor to ceiling windows are selling point for some. No pictures of the bedrooms, though! What do you think of the $6,200-a-month rent? How about that partition/fireplace combo?

i just looked at it more closely. there is a home depot gas fireplace behind the mantlepeice.
The fireplace looks like it’s just a mantle attached to the column. It doesn’t look like it’s deep enough for an actual fire of any sort and it looks like the same color drywall in the firebox as the column. Ireally doubt that there are flues going up that column.
If it had an actual working fireplace I’m sure mary wouldn’t have left that out of her well written description.
Yikes @ this being new construction. It’s not an awful looking building, but it’s not the best residential looking building.
If I had the money, I would not rent in this location. While it has great access to subways, food, theaters, three gyms, and you’re a pleasant walk from downtown Manhattan, this is just a very ugly intersection.
The column/fireplace does not appear on the floorplan, which is very poorly rendered. Things like that annoy me. And it cheapens the product.
Nope. New construction. Fireplace column? It’s clearly hiding a structural element. The rent…I’m not sold at that price, at that location. The view from the B&N across the street indicates that there are several vacant apartments. Is it hard to rent?
It looks like the apartment has a large terrace, not a balcony. Big difference. The outdoor space is really nice.
I agree that the fireplace looks silly attached to a central column but it probably is pleasant when lit on a cold windy day.
Is this a converted office building?
Had they gone for one of the ultra-modern fireplaces like this: http://tinyurl.com/2g4q7fg it probably wouldn’t looks so bad in its current location. As it stands, it looks like an afterthought, a brain fart of sorts.
Is “Condo quality” a red flag????
