Rental of the Day: 197 Himrod Street
This Corcoran listing for a “luxury 2br condo apartment” at 197 Himrod caught our eye, considering the rental is in Bushwick, between Knickerbocker and Myrtle. The building is a new one, and the only shot we could get of the exterior was one that looks like it’s just finishing construction. However, the interior pictures aren’t really giving us too much. If you’re going to try and rent a two-bedroom apartment in Bushwick nine stops off the L for $2,000 a month, you better bring more game than this! This place has been on the market since March and was originally priced at $2,100. $1,900? Do we hear $1,900?

I can’t tell from the pictures if that is of the Hasid-erific or Italo-tastic architectural tradition.
The Leaning Tower of Bushwick? What’s with that exterior shot?
I guess it’s no surprise.
The definition of “luxury rental apartment” in Brooklyn = Fedders + overpriced.
Right?
This is a somewhat strange choice for rental of the day.
First of, it’s not on the L train. It’s on the M train. It’s also a perfectly hideous apartment. You can rent a much better three-bedroom apartment on one level on the L train at Dekalb for $1,600.
However, I will say that now that the M train has been rerouted and you don’t always have to transfer to get into the city, this location is slightly more desirable than it used to be. It’s convenient to the very beautiful Tandem bar.
But more desirable locations in Bushwick with more retail etc. would be the Morgan L stop, Jefferson L, Dekalb L, or Myrtle Broadway J.

The price may be a reflection of the rerouted M train which is on the corner nearby.
i used to take the M train near where i live. then the MTA took away! shouldnt my rent go down!?

The price may be a reflection of the rerouted M train which is on the corner nearby. It`s also close to “The Knick”, if that matters.
Luxury is a nice word…
Someday I want to live in a real fedders building.
did they really use the word “luxury” in the description of this place!? :-/ why yes, that baseboard radiator just SCREAMS LUXURY! Weezie, we moving on up!
