Rental of the Day: 361 Gates Avenue, #2
If this four bedroom at 361 Gates Avenue in Bed Stuy checks out, it’s seeming like a reasonable deal. The duplex, which the ad says is 1,400 square feet, is going for $2,800 a month. Yeah, awkward with the public stairway to second floor, but I think this could be a good arrangement for someone with kids. Very hard to find four bedrooms. And I don’t find it ugly…for a rental. And there’s a floor plan! The owner must be a saint.
Looks like a good deal to me. This area of Bed Stuy is exploding as megon says.
i’m not sure what’s crazier: the fact that the owner paid $750k or he’s asking $2,800 for this apartment. nice paint colors, not.
nice looking place and renovations being NEW is a bonus. location is OK. 2800 is a little high without garden access. relative to what’s out there, it might get some nibbles at the ask but I think it’s ~200 high
It looks as if this was two separate apartments before the reno. They left the kitchen out of the 4th floor living room to create what I guess would be a “family” room. I’m wondering how the renter will feel about using a non-private stairwell to go from one floor to another….
“It’s ugly and overpriced. Why are there two living rooms? ”
huh?
ample space for a decent price in a decent location. good find.

I think it looks great. I’d love to be that close to the Y and there are a ton of things opening up within a short walk from there. I don’t really know rental prices for that exact area, but $2,800 for a nice four-bedroom and/or 1,400 square feet sure sounds good…
